Hello. This page details who I am, my approach, and what you can expect from our work together. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Tiffany Ashenfelter, LPC-S.
I hold a Master of Education in Clinical Counseling from Boston University, where I specialized in Sport Psychology. My experience includes serving as a mental performance consultant for Division 1 rowing, volleyball, and soccer teams, driven by a deep-seated passion for performance work that spans a decade of coaching track and field at the collegiate level. I believe we all have a bit of “performer” within. Sometimes this is as an “athlete”, other times as a “business professional” and even other times as a mother, father, son, daughter, or friend.
In therapy, my aim is to create a safe, nurturing environment where you feel heard, understood, and valued. My greatest strength is my ability to connect with people, and I am dedicated to build a safe space that allows you to freely navigate life by identifying and addressing patterns and schemas that may no longer serve you. I view you as the expert on your own life, and I am here to walk alongside you, helping you achieve the goals you set for yourself, at your own pace.
I work with teen and adult clients and am deeply committed to supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a white clinician, I approach my practice with a strong dedication to cultural humility and continuous growth in cultural competence. Recognizing that effective therapy requires an understanding of and respect for the unique cultural contexts and experiences of each client, I strive to continuously educate myself about different cultural perspectives and to reflect on my own biases. This ongoing process ensures that I provide therapy that is both respectful and responsive to the diverse needs of my clients. Additionally, I am dedicated to supporting those who have experienced trauma, helping them find a path to healing that acknowledges and integrates their cultural experiences and values.
Below, you can find more details about my approach to counseling. If you have any questions or would like to determine if we are a good fit, I would be happy to have a brief conversation over the phone. If I am not the right therapist for you, I will gladly assist you in finding another professional who can meet your needs.
